Privacy Policy

This policy explains how AnyCoin handles information when you identify and save coins. We aim to keep it short and accurate.

What we collect

AnyCoin uses an anonymous guest account on your device (via Supabase Auth). We store the photos you choose to identify or keep, along with related appraisal metadata such as coin name, estimated USD value range, and catalog links. We do not require your name, email, or social login today. Optional settings (haptics, save-to-library, units) stay on your device.

What happens to your photos

When you scan a coin, the App uploads the image to our Coin Appraisal API so we can identify it. The image is normalized in memory and used as a key for reverse image search via Bright Data Google Lens. Matching catalog pages (typically Numista) are scraped for details and value estimates. If needed, a text-only language model may read search snippets to help name or value a coin — your photo is never sent to AI as a vision / image input.

The API does not keep your upload on its own disk after the request finishes. The photo is sent through Bright Data to Google Lens for search only. Separately, successful scans are saved to your private Supabase storage bucket under your anonymous account (paths tied to your user id), with a row in your personal photos table so you can browse and delete them later.

How we use information

We use photos and related data only to identify coins, estimate values, back up your finds to your account, and operate the App. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads in the App. We do not use your coin photos to train public AI models.

Sharing

Limited processing partners help us run the product: Supabase (auth and private photo storage), our appraisal API host, Bright Data / Google Lens (reverse-image search), and optionally OpenAI for text-only fallback when catalog data is incomplete. We share only what those services need to perform their role.

Your choices

You can delete individual photos from My Finds, or use Profile → Delete my photos & reset account to remove all of your photo rows and storage objects and start a fresh guest account. If Save Media Files is enabled, copies may also be written to your device photo library under your control.

Children

AnyCoin is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the App if you are under the age required by your local laws for this type of service.
